RF 35mm f/1.4L VCM Lens, Cinema EOS C400, EL-10 Flash to be Announced Tomorrow !
Canon has generated much anticipation for their upcoming Cinema EOS event being livestreamed on YouTube. The event promises to unveil several new Cinema EOS, EOS, and RF products that imaging professionals have eagerly awaited.
One of the most exciting announcements will be the first in a series of three L prime lenses designed for both still and video capture – the Canon RF 35mm f/1.4L VCM. The “VCM” acronym likely refers to a new linear focus motor technology, with “Voice Coil Motor” being a prime candidate. While the RF 24mm f/1.4L VCM and 50mm f/1.4L VCM round out this prime lens trio, it remains to be seen if they will also make an appearance at the event.
Additionally, Canon will finally reveal the Speedlite EL-10 flash that was initially reported on last August. When and if the EL-10 will be available for purchase is still uncertain, but the event should provide more clarity.
Details remain scarce around the Cinema EOS C400, but expectations are high that it will be an impressive, professional-grade video camera with a price tag to match.
Beyond the aforementioned products, Canon has teased a few more surprise announcements. For those interested in the latest Canon gear, the event kicks off at 3PM eastern time on Canon USA’s YouTube channel.
It’s important to note that while Canon reports on new products, the company does not directly control the complex global supply chains involved in manufacturing. This includes sourcing raw materials and parts, building factories, and final assembly. Supply issues may lead to delays between when products are announced and when they actually ship out to customers.
The Cinema EOS event promises insights into Canon’s roadmap. And while new product announcements don’t instantly equate to availability, it’s an exciting sneak peek into what the future may hold.
