Several days ago, Canon Japan CEO Fujio Mitarai said that EOS-1D X Mark III is the last DSLR from Canon, now this seems not very accurate, according to Canon Russia, only EOS-1D X series will be discontinued, while there will be more DSLR cameras to be released from Canon.

Canon Japan has just filed new patent for large aperture RF mount prime lenses: RF 135mm f/1.4L USM DS, RF 50mm f/1.4L USM DS, RF 24mm f/1.4L USM DS. This new patent showcases some RF mount prime lenses that utilize Defocus Smoothing, which first appeared in the RF 85mm f/1.2L USM DS.
According to Japanese magazine Y.M.Cinema, in the recently interview with Yomiuri Shimbun, Canon’s Chairman and CEO Fujio Mitarai. He confirmed that Canon EOS-1D X Mark III is the last DSLR camera from Canon. Canon will end the development and production of its DSLR cameras, including the flagships, by transforming manufacturing to produce mirrorless systems only.
