Several days ago, Canon Japan CEO Fujio Mitarai said that EOS-1D X Mark III is the last DSLR from Canon, now this seems not very accurate, according to Canon Russia, only EOS-1D X series will be discontinued, while there will be more DSLR cameras to be released from Canon.
According to Japanese magazine Y.M.Cinema, in the recently interview with Yomiuri Shimbun, Canon’s Chairman and CEO Fujio Mitarai. He confirmed that Canon EOS-1D X Mark III is the last DSLR camera from Canon. Canon will end the development and production of its DSLR cameras, including the flagships, by transforming manufacturing to produce mirrorless systems only.
Based on recently announced EOS R3 (Amazon/B&H/Adorama), Canon today announced new firmware updates for EOS R5 (Firmware v1.50), EOS R6 (Firmware v1.50), and EOS-1D X Mark III (Firmware v1.60). These new firmwares will be officially released on December 2nd.
