Canon EOS R5 Mark II now Expected to be Announced in Q4 of 2023

According to latest rumors from CR, the long awaited Canon EOS R5 Mark II now expected to be announced in the Q4 of 2023. And there could be another model along with EOS R5 Mark II – high megapixel EOS R5S. Below are some details of rumors about EOS R5 Mark II:

According to a reliable source, Canon intends to announce the EOS R5’s successor in Q4, with the likelihood of the R5 Mark II making its appearance before the much-awaited EOS R1. The latter is expected to have a slow release cycle, timed to coincide with the Tokyo Olympic Games.

It has also been suggested that Canon might launch two replacement models for the EOS R5: the EOS R5 Mark II and a high-megapixel variant (EOS R5 S). This would provide consumers with a choice between the two models, rather than having to compromise on features. The high-megapixel version, however, is not expected to have the same video capabilities as the EOS R5 Mark II.

Regarding the EOS R5 Mark II, a significant increase in resolution is not anticipated, as the current 45mp resolution may remain the optimal choice for some time. As for the future of the EOS R5 C and the possibility of Canon engineering a fanless cooling solution for the EOS R5 Mark II, no definite information is available at this time.

Stay tuned for more updates on the EOS R5 Mark II and EOS R1 later this week.
